Mr. Mirza holds an LLM (with Distinction) in Corporate and Commercial Law, Queen Mary, University of London. As of September 21, 2016, Mr. Mirza is a Barrister & Solicitor in the Province of Ontario licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada. He is currently working as a lawyer at Campbell Mihailovich Uggenti, LLP in Hamilton, Ontario. His legal practice pertains to the areas of Corporate & Commercial Law, Residential & Commercial Real Estate and Wills & Estate Administration.
Mr. Mirza has previously worked as Manager (Corporate Legal) at Telenor Pakistan (Telenor). His main responsibilities at Telenor included spearheading the company’s various corporate projects from a legal perspective including, inter alia, high profile M&A projects, mobile/branchless banking product ‘Easy Paisa’ and information system migration. He was responsible for drafting, negotiating and reviewing all telecom specific and non-telecom contracts of Telenor, and its subsidiaries Telenor Shared Services, Telenor LDI and Tameer Microfinance Bank. He was also looking after the company’s regulatory compliance with SECP, PTA and CCP.
Mr. Mirza has worked on numerous areas of law, particularly, telecommunications law, banking laws, construction related laws, company law, commercial law, intellectual property laws, constitutional law, competition/anti-trust law and services/labor law.
